He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Shutt and Mary Jane Shutt (Leben); and his sister Sharen Mays. He is survived by: his wife Valeri Shutt of Morrisonville; his children, Roy B. Shutt (Melissa) of Broadwell and Cassandra Drake of Athens; his grandchildren, Nevaeh Drake, Geno Drake, Ricky Drake, Max Drake and Lily Shutt; his brother James S. Shutt (Cheryl) of Las Vegas, Nevada; and his aunt Helen Duncan of Jacksonville.

Memorials may be made to the Masonic Dyslexia Center.
