With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Bernie Ivey of Morton, Illinois, who passed away on May 8, 2026 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Bernie departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Bernie may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Bernie leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, David Geiger and Gladys Geiger; and her husband Galen Ivey. She is survived by: her sons, Steve Ivey (Gwen) of North Carolina, Robert Ivey (Janice) of Morton and John Ivey (Cynthia) of Indiana. She is also survived by four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
