He is survived by: his children, William Pittenger of Peoria, Jennifer Eden of North Pekin and Vicki Hawkins (David) of Hanna City, Illinois; his granddaughter Jessica Hawkins; and his siblings, James Pittenger of Lakeland, Robert Pittenger of Brandon and Thomas Pittenger (Carol) of Springfield, Illinois..

Memorials may be made to Morton Methodist Church or OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.
