He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold V. Hand and Pearl Hand (Johnson); his son Robert; his granddaughter Jessica; and his half-brothers, Rick Defreitas and James Hand.
He is survived by: his wife Noreen Hand; his former wife Janice Laughlin; his children, Todd Hand (Jennifer) of East Peoria and Missy Despines (Brian) of Creve Coeur; his stepdaughters, Heidi Creasy (Mitch) of Peoria and Heather Taylor (Tobin) of Peoria; his daughter-in-law Marcia Stevenson of Montreal, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Tony Stevenson (Jaelin), Ciara Haenke (Steve), Samantha Despines and Briana Despines; his stepgranddaughters, Emma, Clara and Sara Taylor; his great grandchildren, Oliver Haenke, Abigail, Angelina, Jessica and Sophia Stevenson; and his siblings, Robert "Rusty" Hand (Diana) and Valerie Duncan of Peoria.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the St. Jude Runners Association.
