He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Paul and Irene Paul (Cash); and his brothers, Joseph Paul and Robert Paul. He is survived by: his wife Mary "Cande" Willey; his children, Sherry Mustain (Rex) of Marquette Heights, Sandy Post (John) of Peoria and Steve Paul (Wendell Harrell) of Spokane; and his grandchildren, Brandy Meyer (Mike), Bradley Hoopingarner (Sharan), Travis Mustain, Samatha Post (Tyler Pompa), Hannah Post, Sarah Post, Kenna Ray, Julia Ray and Savanna Ray. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
