He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Strange and Florence Strange (Ahrens); his son James S. Strange; his brother-in-law James Berry; and his daughter-in-law Wendy Strange.

He is survived by: his children, Robin LaFleur of Terre Haute, IN, Mark T. Strange of Dongola, IL and Daniel B. Strange of Herrin, IL; his grandchildren, Brandy Robles, Breanna Swartwood and Sean Strange, Sr.; his great grandchildren, Sean Strange and Dreanna Strange; his great great grandchild Majesty Ace Strange; and his brother-in-law Steve Berry of Arlington Heights, IL..
