It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alan D. Rooney of Mount Carmel, Illinois, who passed away on May 14, 2026, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Lincoln and Gladys Francis Rooney (Reece); his daughter Lisa Marie Rooney; his siblings, Albert Lincoln Rooney Jr., Patricia Friesner, Phyllis Phillips and Ronald Rooney; and his mother-in-law Patsy Hocking.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Kendall, Wyatt, Quinn, Julep, Charlie and Benn; his wife Gayla Rooney (Hocking); his son Sean Rooney (Chrissy); his stepsons, Kyle Peach (Jill Winter) and Ryan Peach; his brother Robert Rooney; and his father-in-law Andy Hocking. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Keepes Funeral Home (1500 N Cherry St, Mt Carmel, IL 62863). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 23rd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made in Al's memory to the Rooney family to help offset final expenses.
