Donald G. Bellessa Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Donald G. Bellessa of Mount Carmel, Illinois, who passed away on July 24, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bellessa and Sarah Etta Bellessa; his wife Mary Jane; his grandson Stephen J. Diekmann; and his siblings, Dale Bellessa, Clarence Barney, John Barney and DeLema Rutter.

He is survived by: his children, Lynnetta K. Reynolds (Larry) of Mt. Carmel, Teresa J. Odom (Austin) of Magnolia Springs and Garrett W. Bellessa (Marilyn) of Mt. Carmel; his grandchildren, Kelly L. Price, Aaron L. Loudermilk (Lisa), Timothy M. Diekmann (Amy) and John C. Bellessa (Lorraine); his great grandchildren, Thomas P. Allen III (Sarah Kate), Zachary T. Allen, Rayce L., Shade L., Emily J., Sadie L., Katie B. Diekman, Elizabeth M. and Benjamin G. Bellessa; and his close friend Helen Berberich.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the First General Baptist Church (120 W 12th St, Mt Carmel, IL 62863). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. The military honors was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 10:59 AM at the same location.

“I am Donald cousin from Vincennes. I was sorry to hear of his passing he was such a wonderful human being. Came to my Diner he and his brother Dale, every now and then. Last time was probably 2 years ago. He brought his Grandson and his girlfriend. My Sister called me to let me know of his passing. I was just thinking of him yesterday and wondered how he was doing. My Sister was on face book with him. His family were all so sweet and affectionate We loved them all. Again I am so sorry.”
