She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Garrett and Nora Garrett (Kolstad); her grandson Jeff Jarvi; and her brother-in-law Bud Strand (Marty). She is survived by: her friend Norma Lindquist (Miller); her husband Gerald Strand; her children, Sue Jarvi, Doug Strand (Cheri) and Jan Benedict (Brad); her great grandchildren, Ashlee, Zack Jarvi, Ava Pazera, Zoe, Will, Jude McGhee, Leo, George, Maggie and Sabrina Sharp-Strand; her great great grandchildren, Enslee and Aubree Jarvi; her siblings, Norma Peterson (Pete), Frank Garrett (Noreen) and Royce Garrett (Joan); her caregivers, Angie Vuckovic and Liza Mitchell; her friend Sue Wick; Rev. O. Garfield Beckstrand II.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church - Rockford (200 N 1st St, Rockford, IL 61104). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
