He was predeceased by: his parents, James C Counsil and Edna M Counsil; his wife Carole Gummel; his son David W.; and his siblings, Mary, Joy and Jim.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Valerie Garrett and Ty Counsil; his brother Charlie (Pat); his daughter-in-law Debra Counsil-Ekstrom; and his caregiver Rita Martin.
