Virginia Folkerts Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Virginia Folkerts of Mount Olive, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 17, 2025 at the age of 104. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Virginia Folkerts to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Pierson and Emma Pierson (Kiel); her husband Arthur Thomas Folkerts of Mt. Olive; and her siblings, Wayne and Shirley.
She is survived by: her daughters, Yvonne Becker of Memphis and Lynne Sherman (Tom) of Gillespie, Illinois; her sister Valerie Philipson of Peoria, Illinois; her grandchildren, Jeff Becker of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Janet Geyer (Fred) of Memphis, Tennessee, John Becker of Belleville, Illinois, Keith Marburger (Tina) of Litchfield, Illinois and Kelly Titsworth (Clay) of Litchfield, Illinois.; her great grandchildren, Chris Geyer (Lauren), Alison Dowlen (John), Philip Geyer (Stafani), Haley Sadovsky (Eric) and Emily Titsworth (Lee Morrison); and her great great grandchildren, Jack, James Geyer, Walker, Hugh, Hattie Dowlen, Esther, Kai Lin Geyer, Maddy McCuin, Hazel, Lucy Marburger and Norah Sadovsky.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (500 S Old Rte 66, Mt Olive, IL 62069). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Zion Lutheran Church, Mt. Olive City Cemetery, or the Mt. Olive Academic Foundation.
