He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Laura Vano; his children, Lara Knight (Matthew), Justin Vano (Amy), Meredith Buhle (Richard), Bill Iversen (Danielle) and Brian Iversen; and his siblings, Art Vano, Tony Vano and Maria Vano.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
