She was predeceased by: her parents, Demetrios Varelas and Ioanna Varelas; her spouse Petros Margaritis; and her siblings, Nicholas Varelas and Ageliki Presvelou.

She is survived by: her sons, John Margaritis (Eleni) and Jim Margaritis (Elaine); her grandchildren, Connie Mayer (Jason), Peter Margaritis (Rachel), Samantha Margaritis (Ben Cantrill) and Christopher Margaritis; and her great grandchildren, Luke, Sofia and Gabrielle.

Donations can be made in Dina's honor to Greek American Rehabilitation and Care Centre of Wheeling, Illinois.
