He is survived by: his children, Edward Philip and Jennifer Lynn Hopwood (Steven); his grandchildren, Elias and Emily Hopwood; his siblings, Margaret Bero, John Istwan (Susan), Michael Istwan and Jean (Istwan); his cousin James Staniszewski (Gayle Beuthien); and his brother-in-law Donald Simonsen (Mary Ellen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
