James will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Schumer and Sara Schumer; and his sister Marilyn Kasan. He is survived by: his brother Robert Schumer; his nieces and nephews, Dawn, Scott, Jaclyn, Jordan, Christina and Nick; and his great-nieces, Kayla and Jasmine.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Friedrichs Funeral Home (320 W Central Rd, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
