She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Kerry Chambers; her children, Neal Warren Chambers and Jamie Joyce Chambers; and her siblings, Terry Morgenthaler (Patrick Kerins), Jeffrey Morgenthaler (Donna) and Sharon Morgenthaler. She was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Martin's Episcopal Church.

“I knew Jill from her days West Berlin leading a group of folks who were responsible for monitoring the radio and phone communications for US Army Berlin. I am not sure how much of this life her family knew but she was something else. As a young Captain she made sure that we did our jobs and did them well. We had some really great times with Captain Morgenthaler. I remember when her Mom and sisters came to visit her in Berlin. Their theme song was "We are Family" by Sly and the Family Stone. Seeing her and her sisters together one knew that family meant everything to Captain M. She will be missed by many who knew way back when in 1980 to 1982...... Richard L. Nolan, SFC, US Army Retired.”
