He was predeceased by: his wife Cora J. Gorak; and his parents, John Gorak Sr. (Josephine) and Josephine. He is survived by: his children, John J. Gorak III (Frances), Michael Gorak (Susan) and Bridget Sessa (late Ernest); his grandchildren, John J. IV, David, Sean, Joseph, Mary and Ernest; his great grandchildren, Jenna, Chloe, Ashley and Nikki; and his siblings, Thomas Gorak (Lela), Mary Claire, Gertrude, Michael and Bridget.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. A Mass will be held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Zachary Church (567 W Algonquin Rd, Des Plaines, IL 60016).
