He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Szymczyk and Lillian Szymczyk; his daughter Paula Shade (Ron); and his sisters, Geraldine Fendrich (Ralph) and Christine Szymczyk.
He is survived by: his wife Arlene Young; his children, Steven Simms (Denise), Mary Kathryn Hannig, Thomas Simms (Lorinda) and Daniel Simms (Dana); his grandchildren, Sarah (Jose), Rebecca (Robert), Aaron (Michelle), Emily (Todd), Amy (Dave), Kevin (Jessica), Aubrey (James), Zachary, Danielle (Thomas), Clayton (Ashley), Nicholas and Braden; and his great grandchildren, Gisele, Avery, Oliver, Carly, Julia, Claire, Hadley, Rowan, Myla, Ellie, Lincoln, Lennox, Lochlan and Noah.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Raymond de Penafort Church (301 S I Oka Ave, Mt Prospect, IL 60056). A Mass will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Paul R. Simms lost his 5-year battle with Alzheimer's on June 2, 2025.
