He was predeceased by: his wife Marcia; and his daughter Christine Shallow (James). He is survived by: his daughters, Cheryl Bennett (late Randy) and Julia Little (Daryl); his grandchildren, Martin Bennett (Kelly), Holly McCoy (Mike), Samantha Mortensen (Justin) of Robert James, RJ and Jaclyn Rentner; his great grandchildren, Owen, Emily, Claire and Isabelle; and his brothers, James Schlage (Marilyn) and Robert Schlage (late Cheryl).
The family respectfully asks for memorial contributions be made to the Chicago Botanic Garden rather than sending flowers.
