Though Charles may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis Marion Morris and Oneva Hayes Morris; his stepmother Irene Harkins Morris; and his sister Ruth Morris. He is survived by: his wife Eloise Marshbanks Morris; his sons, Charles Lee Morris (Donna) of Scottsdale, AZ and Michael Fred Morris (Sue) of Stafford, VA; and his grandson Garrett Lewis Morris.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Park Avenue Baptist Church (900 Park Ave, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, May 5th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel (1704 Harlan Rd, Mt Vernon, IL 62864).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in Charlie's honor to the "Charles L. Morris Endowed Scholarship" at Berea College (Berea College, PO Box 1855, Berea, KY 40403) or to Park Avenue Baptist Church (900 Park Avenue, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864).
