It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delbert Hughey of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on September 12, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Fay Hughey (Red) and Margaret Hughey (Owens); his children, Timothy James Hughey and Susan Diane Hughey; his stepdaughter Rhonda Hamilton; and his brother Jerry Hughey.
He is survived by: his wife Sherry Hughey (Haynes); his children, Danny Wayne Hamilton of Mount Vernon, John Mark Hamilton of McLeansboro, Jarrett Winter of McLeansboro, Debbie Lynn Bowers of McLeansboro, Bethany Dianna Anderson (Mike) of Mount Vernon and Sabrina Nicole Shun (Brian) of Franklin, Tennessee; his stepdaughter Jerri Dawn Lorry; his stepgrandchild Casey Dawn; and his sisters, Phyllis Throgmorton (Edward) of Branden and Lois Hughey of Branden, Mississippi. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made in Delbert's honor to Old Union Missionary Baptist Church.
