Doris Irene Davis Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Doris Irene Davis of Mount Vernon, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 24, 2026 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Val Wooden and Dortha Wooden (Puckett); her husband Maurice Davis; her daughter Sarah Davis; her sister Emma Clayton; and her siblings-in-law, Donald Davis (Ruth) and Dixie Wilson (Bill).
She is survived by: her children, Marilyn Davis of Mt. Vernon, Nancy Voyda (Tim) of Waterloo, Linda Kirkpatrick (Billy) of Mt. Vernon, John Davis (JoAnne) of Mt. Vernon and Susan Guthrie (Shannon) of Opdyke; her grandchildren, Jessica Stumpf (Brian) of Valmeyer, Matthew Voyda of Maeystown, David Voyda (Brittney) of Columbia, Jordan Kirkpatrick (Samantha) of Mt. Vernon, Bethany Heern (Ross) of Mulkeytown, Moriah Gentry (Josh) of Mt. Vernon, Michael Davis of Mt. Vernon, Joseph Davis of Mt. Vernon, Kate Davis of Mt. Vernon, Canaan Guthrie (Addyson) of Opdyke, Eden Guthrie of Opdyke and Benjamin Guthrie of Opdyke; her siblings, Jerry Wooden of Mt. Vernon and Judy Stewart of Flora, Illinois; and her brother-in-law Dean Clayton of Lincoln, Illinois. She is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Osborn Funeral Home (322 N Main St, Dix, IL 62830). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 29th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to South Hickory Hill Cemetery, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, Illinois 62830.
