It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emma AnnaLee Cathers of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on January 16, 2026, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ballard Hale and Myrtle Hale (Fields); her husband Clarence Cathers; her children, Terry Cathers, Michael Cathers, Peggy Long and Gina Stewart; her granddaughters, Amanda Cathers and Amy Long; and her sisters, Betty and Rosetta.
She is survived by: her children, Adam Cathers (Tina) of Roodhouse, Kevin Cathers of Jacksonville, Tracy Stone of Granite City and Shannon Booher (Grant) of Gulf Shores, Alabama; her grandchildren, Misty Smith (Travis) of Mount Vernon, Gabe Cathers (Lashelle) of Jacksonville, Kendra Thaxton (Scott) of Granite City, Patrick Shane Long of San Antonio, April Cathers of Woodriver, Jacob Cathers of Madison, Nicki of Alton, Brandon Cathers of Roodhouse, Phenix Whitby of Cross Plains, Joey Cathers of Jacksonville, Andy Vanmeter of Roodhouse, Stephanie Cathers of Jacksonville, Linda Rosales of Fresno and Bobby Gibson of Fresno, California; and her stepdaughter Kathy Gibson of Fresno, California.. She is also survived by many great‑grandchildren, great‑great‑grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
