It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Evertt Atkinson of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on April 20, 2025, at the age of 102, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Pearl and Hallie Winifred Atkinson (Moore); his wife Doris Atkinson (McCauley); and his brother Edward Percy Atkinson. He is survived by: his children, Dennis Atkinson (Jennifer) of Commerce Township, Michigan, Ruth Ann Wheeler (Jim) of Mount Vernon and Becky Hill (Dean) of Opdyke, Illinois; his grandchildren, Rahn Clarke (Koletta), Caryn Harris, Kelsey Wojtowicz (John Paul), Levi Hill (Ashlee Askew), Corey Hill (Taylor Nowitzke), Veronica Sanchez, Dakotah Atkinson (Kathryn Lyons) and Justin Atkinson; his brothers, Marc Atkinson and Don Atkinson; his sister-in-law Clarice Hollis; and his caregivers, Pam, Flo and Faye. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
