She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Burns and Gertie Burns (Taylor); her husband Leonard Noel Davis; her brother Milton Burns; and her sisters-in-law, Wilma Ruth Highsmith, Faye Reynolds, Norma Lee Huffstutler and Betty Arnold.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Davis (Judith), Rodney Davis, Teresa Davis-Brown (James), Michelle Parks (Shawn) and Robert Davis; her grandchildren, Eden Stephens (Gary), Elise Davis, Blythelee Brown-Wells (Lucas), Bethaney Galent (Joshua) and Joshua Balangue (Eymard); and her great grandchildren, Ivy Stephens and Annie Stephens. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hughey Funeral Home (1314 Main St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 26th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Freda's honor to Logan Street Baptist Church.
