She is survived by: her daughters, Amy Oliver Gilyard of Bayonne, NJ and Andrea Melissa Johnson (Kevin) of Virginia Beach, VA; her grandchildren, Layla, Kyndall, Simone, Sydney and Jackson; her sisters, Daria Patricia Peace (Clement) of Durham, NC, Tracy Roberts of Louisville, KY and Angela Roberts of Greensboro, NC; Marshana and Steve Fleming. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Newell Funeral Home (601 N 42nd St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria's honor to The National Head Start Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
