He was predeceased by : his parents, Julius Edgar and Zelma Minton (Lipe); his sister Doris McDaniel; his brother-in-law Tony McDaniel; and his nephew Jeff McDaniel.
He is survived by : his wife Sandra Kay "Sandy" Minton (Lee); his children, Jeremy Minton (Kacey) and Jenna Melvin (Kyle); and his grandchildren, Amiri Rose, Jameson Minton and Kayla Melvin. He is also survived by his family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jim's honor to the Perry County or Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
