She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Hadley and Lettie Long (Roberts); her husband Bobby Gene Carter; her son James W. Carter; her siblings, Everett Wayne Long, John Long and Stella Mae Long; her daughter-in-law Kimberly Carter (Clemons); and her brother-in-law Don Cook.
She is survived by: her children, Hubert Carter (Valerie Rhodes) of Mt. Vernon and Lettie Johnson (Kenny) of Mt. Vernon; her grandchildren, Christian Carter, Maquel Brown (Andrew), JohnLuke Carter, Karissa Mooney (Ryan), Dillon Johnson (Alana), Alicia Capps (Chris), Jessica Carter (Caleb McSparin), Katelyn Carter (Blayze Pierce) and Heather Carter; her great grandchildren, Theo, Layla Mooney, Lexi, Ryder Capps, Asher Pierce, Carter and Verlena Brown; her sister Sue Cook of Eldorado, Illinois; and her sister-in-law Charlene Long of DeLand, Florida. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
