She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Echols and Alice Echols (Coleman); her daughter Rebecca E. Hanes; her siblings, Brenda Smith, Harry and Eddie Echols; her in-laws, David and Wilma Hanes; her aunt Mabel; and her uncle Steve Richards.

She is survived by: her husband William Hanes (Bill); her children, Susan Emery (Rob) and William T. Hanes (Billy Tom); her grandchildren, Robbie Emery, Slade Emery, Saige Hanes and Rebecca Hanes; her siblings, Loretta Karcher (Gail), Nancy Wessling, Jane Douthit (Marty), Cindy Diller, Anita Thompson, Jeff Echols and Frank Echols (Joe); and her siblings-in-law, Sue Echols, Ruth Ann Hamilton (John) and Cecil Smith. She is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
