With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Janice Hamerski of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in Duluth, Minnesota, who passed away on April 13, 2024 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In bidding Janice adieu, let us not mourn the silence that now fills the spaces Janice once occupied, but rather celebrate the vibrant colors she painted upon the canvas of our lives. For while she may have departed from this earthly realm, her spirit remains a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkest of nights.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Gordan Switzer and Margaret Switzer (Dreimaker); and her husband Steve Hamerski. She is survived by : her sons, Bob Hamerski (Susan Beard) of Mount Vernon and Gary Hamerski (Stephanie Rains) of Mount Vernon; her grandchildren, Phillip Hamerski (Veronica) of Chicago, Hannah Hamerski of Mount Vernon and Seth Hamerski of Mount Vernon; and her great grandchild Paxton Hamerski of Chicago. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel (6449 IL-15, Woodlawn, IL 62898). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 8th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

Memorials may be made in Janice's honor to Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
