She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Pierce and Pansy Pierce (Hughey); her husband Grover Cox; her son Robert Scott "Big Red" Cox; her siblings, Herbert Pierce, Jr., Jerry Dan Pierce, Dorothy Campbell and Joyce Knight; and her brother-in-law Gilbert Knight.
She is survived by: her daughters, Tammy Knox (Randy) of Woodlawn and Cathi Jackson (Tom) of Mount Vernon; her grandchildren, Matthew Knox (Chelsea) of San Diego, Thomas Knox (Amy) of Vienna, Virginia, Clay Jackson (Hannah) of Louisville and Casey Harp (Josh) of Mount Vernon; her great grandchildren, Daniel Knox, Camilia Knox, Luna Knox, Scottie Jackson, Elise Harp and Evan Harp; and her sister-in-law Carlene Richards.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made in Jo Anne's honor to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
