John Casey Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John Casey of Mount Vernon, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 19, 2026 at the age of 97. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Casey and Mamie Casey (Foster); and his sisters, Anna Jean, Nellie Bruggeman and Choella Fisher.
He is survived by: his wife Jeannine Casey (Thornton); his sons, Robert Casey (Cathy), John Casey and Todd Winkler (Chassidy); and his grandchildren, Evelyn Casey, Gavin Casey and Taysia Smith. He is also survived by several other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Memorials may be made in John's honor to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter.
