It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Cole McDermott of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on January 11, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James McDermott and Wanita Rettke (Cole); and his brothers, Jack McDermott and Joe McDermott. He is survived by : his former life partner Vicky Evans of Knoxville, Tennessee; his children, Mario McDermott (Ling) of Manila, Kristy McDermott (Mitchell Johnson) of Austin and Jeanie McDermott of Knoxville, Tennessee; his grandchildren, Zachary Myers of Marion, Isabel McDermott of Manila, Cole McDermott of Manila and Chance Smith of Knoxville, Tennessee; his great grandchild Camdyn Myers of Fairfield, Illinois; and his brother James McDermott. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
