It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Terry Hayes of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on December 31, 2023, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, John Kennon and Reatha Hayes (Steward); his wife Judy Hayes (Morgan); his brothers-in-law, Larry Flota and Fred Reeker; and his brother Jim Hayes.

He is survived by : his children, Kenny Hayes of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Kiowana Ferguson; his grandchildren, Dustin Ferguson (Kristin) of Mount Vernon, Amanda Kriese (Grant) of Pacific and John Hayes of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Emma, Rylie and Colton Kriese; his siblings, Randy Hayes (Vicki) of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Judy Flota of Mount Vernon and Shirley Reeker; and his siblings-in-law, Shirley Hayes, David and Becky Burton of Mount Vernon, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
