She was predeceased by: her husband Gary; her parents, Nguyen Thi Dat and Mai Van Truc; her siblings, Nguyen Thi Dat and Nguyen Van Trung; her in-laws, Carl, Maxine, Mike Elliott and Brenda Weedman; and her parents-in-law, Alma Smith and Carl Elliott.
She is survived by: her children, Nga Nguyen (Tuan), Lyna Benson, Jackie Jones (Jim) and Carl; her grandchildren, Julie, Danny Nguyen, Seth, Ali Benson, Ella, Lucy Kroeschen, McKayla, Braden and Tyler Jones; her siblings, Nguyen Thi Bong (Nguyen Van Hiem), Nguyen Thi Huoing (Tran Van Sang), Nguyen Thi Tuoi (Lechi Duc), Nguyen Thi Hue (Trinh), Nguyen Van Danh (Tran Thi Ut) and Nguyen Van Hoang (Huyen Ngoc Tang); her sons, Kinh Kha, Nguyen Hoang Chua (David Tran), Tran Xuan Tien and Tam Trinh; her nephews, Nguyen Van Dung, Jim, Joe Nguyen, Nguyen Andy, Nam Trinh, Nguyen Liam, Chad and Jenney Weedman; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kate, Allan, Anna, Julia Le, Mia and Dylan Tran; her son-in-law Rob Kroeschen; her uncle Jackie; and her aunt Sue.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Hughey Funeral Home (1314 Main St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made in Kim's honor to Van Hanh Monastery.
