She was predeceased by: her parents, Ralph Carlton and Ruth Carlton (Jamerson); and her sister Paula Hirons. She is survived by: her daughter Tammy (John Padget) of Mount Vernon, IL; her granddaughters, Melany N. Gant of Mt. Vernon, IL and Alexandra K (Michael Franzone) of Mesa; and her great grandchildren, Sophia B. Franzone, Giovanni T. Franzone, Ryan N. Burnett, Chloe L. Burnett and Kylie Burnett. She is also survived by Several nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Hughey Funeral Home (1314 Main St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made in Linda's honor to Family Life Church and Shelter.
