She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Newell and Helen Newell (Hamilton); her former husband Charles Lloyd McCowen; her husband Jack F. Lovin of Mt. Vernon; her son Charles Alan McCowen; and her sister Carolyn "Susie" Rogers.
She is survived by: her daughter Sue Ellen Karcher (Mike) of Dahlgren; her daughter-in-law Sally McCowen of Waltonville; her sister Areta Phillips of Arizona; her sister-in-law Sandra Boyce; and her grandchildren, Jason Brown (JoJo), Loran Williams (Kevin), Lucas McCowen, Katie Karcher (Troy), Maggie Karcher (Jake) and Robert McCowen (Taylor). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, stepchildren and step grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knob Prairie Cemetery, Residential Hospice, or Prairie Historians and will be accepted at the funeral home.
