Mary A Ledbetter Obituary
We are sad to announce that on October 14, 2025, at the age of 82, Mary A Ledbetter of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lester Robison and Anna Mae Robison (Garner); her husband John Willard Ledbetter; her son John "J. W." Ledbetter, Jr.; her great grandchild Harvey Ross; and her siblings, Charles Robinson, Stanley "Danny" Robison, Johnnie Robison, Jean Anne Drake and Donna Robison.
She is survived by: her children, Cathy Barnes (Scott) of Woodlawn, Illinois, Jeffrey Ledbetter of Charleston and Michael Ledbetter (Sharilyn) of Matthews; her grandchildren, Tim Barnes (Stacey), Alicia Elliston (Mark), Christy Ross (Bryant), Jeffrey Ledbetter, Jr., Jessy Ledbetter, Molly Ledbetter, Mallory Ledbetter, Evan Ledbetter and Graeson Ledbetter; and her siblings, James Robison, Lester Robison, Jr. (Carolyn), Dennis Robison (Billie), Linda Williams, Brenda Owens and Sheryl Schlimme (Bill). She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Newell Funeral Home (601 S 42nd St, Mt Vernon, IL 62864). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Caledonia Cemetery East Mound.
Memorials may be made in Mary's honor to the Coffin Lowry Syndrome Foundation.
