She was predeceased by : her parents, Andrew Jackson "Jack" Houseworth and Arzella Houseworth (Atchison); her husband Arthur Willis Kern; her daughters, Janie L. Kern and Frances Scott; her brothers, Earl and Herschel Houseworth; and her grandson James Robert Scott.

She is survived by : her sons, Robert "Butch" Kern (Mary Pearl) of Okeechobee, FL and Jeffery Kern of Mt. Vernon, IL; and her grandchildren, Sherry Miller (Chuck) of Lawton, OK, Robyn Spradlin (Kern) of Okeechobee, FL, Scotty Scott (Ashley) of Dahlgren, IL, Carmen Loper (Patrick) of Lorida, FL and Brandy Coffey (Tom) of New Baden, IL..

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Paralyzed Veterans of America and will be accepted at the funeral home.
