He was predeceased by : his parents, Harry Eugene and Helen Martha Hampton (Butts); his grandson Caleb Holtz; and his brothers, Gale, Charlie and Martin Hampton.

He is survived by : his children, Janie Beth Lovin (John) of Belle Rive, Illinois, Andrew Hampton (Scottie) of Virginia and Dustin Kyle Hampton (Stefanie) of Glen Carbon, Illinois; his grandchildren, Casey Goodwin (Jacob), Coty, Logan, Becker, Sullivan, Grey Hampton, John H. Lovin and James Lovin (Michelle); his sister Nancy Benjamin of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and the mother of his children Nicki Gream (Meredith). He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
