The passing of Richard Stubblefield of Mount Vernon, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 4, 2025 at the age of 81. He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Stubblefield and Hazel Stubblefield (Bradley); and his daughters, Sara and Rebecca Stubblefield. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn (Fornear) of Mount Vernon; his daughter Jennifer (Ed Lobenhofer); his grandsons, Kyle and Zachary Lobenhofer of Thousand Oaks, California.; his sisters, Jo Ann Garner of Herrin, Joyce Hodge of Sesser and Gayla Stubblefield of Mount Vernon; and his brother-in-law Gary Reynolds of Mount Vernon. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, October 11th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Woodlawn Christian Church (501 Green St, Woodlawn, IL 62898).
The family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Sara Elizabeth Stubblefield Memorial Foundation, care of Matthew Flanigan at Black, Ballard, & McDonald, PC, in Mount Vernon.
