He was predeceased by : his father Ralph Trout; and his granddaughter Shasta Blare Sims. He is survived by : his wife Sharon Kay Trout (Shores); his children, Kathy Sims (Bobby) of Mount Vernon, Illinois and Kevin Lisenby (Sally) of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Kable Sims, Nathan Timm, Brogan Sims, Megan, Joshua Trout, Emily, Jacob Trout, Katie, Jamie Hardy, Ashleigh Smith, Danielle Abbott and Jaylee Lisenby; his great grandchildren, Makenna, Noah, Emma Timm, Beck Sims, Eli and Nora Trout; and his sister Sherry. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Ron's honor to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
