He was predeceased by: his parents, Julius Dennis and Ethel Dennis (Surrat); and his siblings, Eugene Dennis, Julius Clinton Dennis, Larry Dennis and Mary Mallicoat.

He is survived by: his wife B. Darlene Owens of Harristown; his children, Suzanne Ott (Randy) of Shelbyville and Michael W. (Brenda) of Metamora; his stepchildren, Barbara Jo Love (Ray) of Jacksonville, IL, Ted Owens (Jo Ann) of Louisburg, NC, Mary Jane Schroder (Ken) of Decatur, IL and Linda Kay Montavonti (Tony) of Peoria, IL; his siblings, Maxine and Bob Dennis of Jacksonville; his grandchildren, Jennifer Everett (Logan), Jamie Rutherford, Adam Rutherford of Dalton City and Aaron Dennis of East Peoria; and his stepgrandchildren, Jacqueline Tew, Brandon Alexander and Tim Gray. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, four step great- grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and seven step great-great grandchildren.
