James Ferguson Obituary
We announce the death of James Ferguson of Mount Zion, Illinois, who passed away on September 28, 2026, at the age of 72. James will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Ferguson and Minnie Ferguson (Newlin); his wife Leslie Kay Ferguson; his daughter Tara Hudson; his grandson Jack Ferguson; and his siblings, Gene Ferguson, Judy Bolduc, Joyce Chapman, Sharon Lucas, Robert Ferguson and Frances Hoffman.
He is survived by: his sons, Joshua Ferguson (Megan) of Decatur and Dana Ferguson of Shelbyville; his grandchildren, Kylie, Ethan, Nick Ferguson of Decatur, Scarlett Ferguson of Assumption and Jordan Hudson of North Carolina; and his siblings, Keith Ferguson of Dayton, Dean Ferguson (Linda) of Higdon, Dan Ferguson of Thompson Station, Stan Ferguson of Tullahoma, Betty Franke of Mogadore and Diane Williams (Chuck) of Shelbyville. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lockart-Green Funeral Home (302 W Main St, Shelbyville, IL 62565). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
