He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Perry and Opal Perry; and his stepdaughter Lori A. Horne. He is survived by: his wife Linda Schmeling-Perry (Stevens) of Mt. Zion; his sons, Michael Martin (Sherry) of Ottawa, IL, David Martin of Sanford, FL and Steven D. Schmeling (Dawnell) of Stevensville, MI; his siblings, Dwight Perry (Lonni) of Mattoon, IL and Jeannine Ericsson of Lincolnwood, IL; his grandchildren, Morgan Hernandez (Daniel) of Stevensville, MI, Emily Schmeling of Stevensville, IL and Steven J "Jake" Schmeling of Stevensville, MI; and his great grandchildren, Penelope, Myla and Ellie.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home (105 W Main St, Mt Zion, IL 62549). A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Macon County Conservation District.
