He was predeceased by : his wife Cheryl Saylor; his parents, William Saylor and Sophie Saylor; and his sisters, Jacqueline Hase and Jill Lightfoot.

He is survived by : his friend Bill; his children, William, Kevin and Christina; his grandchildren, Sophia, Kyle and Lena; his nephew Doug Hase; and his niece Toni Kobe.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the American Bird Conservancy, Cornell Laboratory for Birds, or a Chicago area nature organization or pet shelter of one's choice.
