It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn R. Jones of Murphysboro, Illinois, born in Cairo, Illinois, who passed away on May 31, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Hezzie Franklin and Margie Helena Holmes (Upshaw). She is survived by : her husband William Jones of Murphysboro; her daughters, Brenda Jones of Murphysboro, Cathy Williams (Don) of Georgia, Patty Koenig (Vic) of Murphysboro and Donna Fager (Mark) of Gorham; her sisters, Janet Compton (Wesley) of Georgia and Gloria Highers of Oklahoma; and her grandchildren, Heather (Jordan), Brent, Lauren (Jamie), Brittany (Trent) and Zac (Tiffany). She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to Elm Street Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
