We bid farewell to Claude J. Shannon of Murphysboro, Illinois, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 5, 2025 at the age of 94. Claude touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Silas Shannon and Melinda Shannon (Crisler); and his siblings, Henry, Kenneth, Ernest Shannon, Wilma Shannon and Claudine Shannon.
He is survived by: his wife Fern Hallbauer; his children, Claudia Kinder (Mark) of Murphysboro, IL., Don Shannon (Karla Morgan) of Murphysboro, IL. and Carol Brown (Rodney) of Murphysboro, IL.; his grandchildren, Adam Kinder (Audrey), Joshua Kinder, Sarah Allen (Eric), Emily Taylor (Brandon), Ashley Brown (Caleb Schwinn), Grant Brown (Jennifer Dean), Michelle Godwin and Morgan Cook; and his great grandchildren, Zeke, Toby, Theo Kinder, Jacob, Nolan, Oliver Allen, Bailey Brown, Johanna and Maddie Lynn Godwin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
