He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Amschler and Beverly Amschler; his sister Deborah Jo Hale; his niece Robin Carroll; and his grandparents, Ted, Hazel Hart, John and Hilda Amschler.
He is survived by: his son Danny Ray; his daughter-in-law Vicki Amschler of Vonore, TN; his grandchildren, Eliana, Chamon Curtis of Vonroe, TN, Jacob and Grace Kadau of Havelock, NC; his great grandchildren, Axel Curtis, Emory Kadau, Soon and Beverly Roze Curtis; and his brothers, Steven Amschler of Kennett, MO and Michael Amschler of Jacksonville, FL. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and his friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Crain Funeral Home - Downtown Murphysboro (1421 Walnut St, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 1:45 PM to 2:15 PM at the Tower Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Respiratory Department.
