He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil McCoy and Wanda McCoy (Pierson); and his brothers, Donald McCoy and Virgil McCoy. He is survived by: his wife Betty Fromme; his children, Melinda "Sis" Stuhrenberg (Chuck) and Mike McCoy (Sandy); and his grandsons, Kyle Lee Stuhrenberg (Madi) and Ryne Michael McCoy (Kodi). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many close friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew Catholic Church (724 Mulberry St, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery (724 Mulberry St, Murphysboro, IL 62966).
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church and/or St. Andrew Catholic School.
